SOS Fall Migration
Date: September 12th – 21st
Pack your shagging shoes and catch the final rays of summer as you dance the days away on Ocean Boulevard in North Myrtle Beach! The sounds of beach music will pour into the streets from some of the area’s historical shag including Duck’s, Fat Harold’s, and OD Pavilion. Whether you’re a novice or an expert, this last blast brings in crowds from all over the US for an unforgettable week!
Fall Art in Common Arts & Crafts Show
Date: September 21st – 22nd
If you’re in the market for a handcrafted piece of art, there will be a range of mediums for sale including photography, jewelry, glass blown pieces, paintings, pottery, stone and wood carvings available at The Market Common during the Fall Art in Common Arts & Crafts Show. Over fifty local and statewide artists will gather for this free event. You may just leave the beach with a unique souvenir!
44th Annual Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival
Date: September 27th – 29th
For three days, the works of over 100 artisans will fill the beautiful grounds of the Atalaya Castle at Huntington Beach State Park. From paintings, jewelry, photography, pottery, and other forms of fine art will be available for purchase. There will be local food along with entertainment by some of the area’s best musicians. You’ll enjoy experiencing the charm of Huntington Beach while discovering a treasured piece of art to bring home!
Irish Italian Festival
Date: September 28th
Head to Main Street in North Myrtle Beach for the 15th annual Irish Italian Festival. There will be live music on two different stages, food vendors, and arts and crafts. Your kids will enjoy a section of the festival dedicated just for them with inflatables, balloon artists, magicians and more. Come hungry because there will be a spaghetti-eating competition!
Admission is free and no matter whether you’re Irish or Italian .. or neither … this cultural celebration is sure to be entertaining for the whole family!
Harvest Home Weekend Festival
Date: October 5th – 6th
Brookgreen Gardens is welcoming fall with their annual Harvest Home Weekend Festival! One of their biggest family events, you can build your own scarecrow, pick out a pumpkin to paint, meet the animals and go for a hayride. Afterwards take time to explore the beautiful sculpture gardens.
Festa Italiana
Do you love Italian food? Get your fill at Market Common during Festa Italiana – a celebration of the observance of Columbus Day and hosted by the Sons and Daughters of Italy Myrtle Beach Lodge #2662. This festival features all the authentic Italian favorites including ravioli, Neapolitan style pizza, chicken parmesan, meatball heroes and more. For dessert you’ll taste homemade Italian delicacies like zeppoli, cannoli, biscotti, and cookies. There will be live entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, face painting, and kids activities. And it wouldn’t be a true Italian festival without spaghetti and pizza eating contests. Pack your appetite and get ready for an authentic Italian celebration!
Myrtle Beach Oktoberfest
Date: October 11th – 12th
Celebrate Oktoberfest at Market Common with huge selection of Oktoberfest beer, tons of food and arts and crafts vendors. There will be live entertainment all weekend long and a pumpkin patch where you can pick out a pumpkin to carve for Halloween. For the kids they can enjoy face-painting and inflatables to bounce around on. Admission is free and fun for the whole family!
Little River ShrimpFest
Date: October 12th
Just a short drive from Marina Inn is the charming town of Little River, nestled on the waterfront of the Intracoastal Waterfront. Known for their fresh seafood restaurants, each fall the town hosts the Little River Shrimpfest which brings in festival goers from all over the Grand Strand. There’s a children’s area complete with face-painting, stilt walker, and balloon artists. You’ll enjoy live music and browsing the tents of over 150 different food and arts and crafts vendors. Plus you’ll get your fill of fresh seafood served up by the local waterfront restaurants.
Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon, 5k, Doggie Dash
Date: October 19th – 20th
Pack your running shoes and turn your vacation into a racecation during the annual Myrtle Beach Mini Marathon! This race has a surfing theme complete with surfboard finisher medals, beach bands and a huge beachside party post race. Plus it’s one of the flattest half marathon courses and features over five miles of oceanfront views! If you’re not quite ready for 13.2 miles of running, check out the Coastal 5k or if you’re bringing along your furry friend – the one mile Doggie Dash.
Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival
Date: November 1st – 2nd
Calling all seafood lovers! Myrtle Beach is throwing it’s annual Myrtle Beach Seafood Festival at the Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place. The festival will offer a variety of delicious seafood dishes along with live entertainment, beer stations, a cornhold tournament and more! For the kids there will be a Kid Zone with bounce houses, activities sponsored by EdVenture Children’s Museum, carnival games, and slides. Perfect for the whole family, this event is free to attend!
Taste of the Town
Date: November 5th
Each year, Myrtle Beach area restaurants gather at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center for the annual Taste of the Town, a culinary competition. The event is an annual fundraiser for St. Andrew Catholic School and consists of chefs participating for awards such as Best Entree, Best Dessert, Best Booth Design and People’s Choice Award. There’s always a variety of dishes to sample and is a great way to get a taste of the Grand Strand!
