History of the Grande Dunes

The idea of an all encompassing, idyllic resort retreat in Myrtle Beach began in the 1990’s by local developers who desired to create a luxurious experience in Myrtle Beach, SC  that would include residential homes with golf, tennis, marina, dining and a resort hotel. Their dream became a reality and in 2001, the 2200 acre Grande Dunes Resort was launched.  The Grande Dunes Resort, a master planned community located on the exclusive north section of Myrtle Beach was born.  Encompassing 2200 acres, the development spans from the Atlantic Ocean to west of the Intracoastal Waterway.

Iconic Grande Dunes Bridge

The Grande Dunes journey begins with the completion of the classic Grande Dunes bridge. Not only to connect the land separated by the Intracoastal Waterway, but as a symbol of elegance and class defining the community to come.

Award Winning Golf Course

As residential development began, the 18 hole Grande Dunes Resort Course was completed in 2000. A visually stunning design by Roger Rulewich, where seven holes that play are set atop bluffs overlooking the scenic Intracoastal Waterway. The course continues to be considered “one of the great golf clubs in the world” by PGA magazine.
