It’s that wonderful time of year again…things are blooming as nature comes back to life after the winter, temperatures are getting warmer, days are getting longer–spring is almost here! It may feel like we just rang in the New Year a few days ago, but we are already in March…spring is most definitely on its way! Spring in Myrtle Beach means the summer season is just around the corner, and the closer we get to summer, the more there is to see and do. Why should you come enjoy spring in Myrtle Beach? Here a just a few reasons:
While some parts of the country may still be covered in snow and ice, here in Myrtle Beach, temperatures start warming up this time of year. Shake those wintertime blues with a little Myrtle Beach sunshine on your skin and breathe in the fresh salt air. The mild weather makes getting out to enjoy spring leisure activities and events all the more enjoyable.
When the weather warms up, so do the activities! With the spring season comes many special events. Celebrate the luck of the Irish with the 32nd Annual North Myrtle Beach St. Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade (Mar. 14), for auto enthusiasts, enjoy the annual Run to the Sun Car Show (Mar. 19-21), and for our neighbors to the North, there’s the 60th Annual Can-Am Days (Mar. 14-22). April has a full calendar of events as well with the Horry County Fair, the Blue Crab Festival, Monday After the Masters Charity Golf Tournament, and of course, Easter, the true kickoff to the Myrtle Beach tourist season. Marina Inn at Grande Dunes’ Easter Package is one of the best offers in town!
With some of the warmer days we’ve been having, the trees, shrubbery and flowers will be blooming anytime, if they haven’t already. Spring brings an all new palette of delightful colors, and as the temperatures get warmer, the outdoors will be that much more fun. This is the perfect time of year to spend a day at Brookgreen Gardens, go for a scenic bike ride, take a stroll on the beach, or enjoy some outdoor dining.
Although business is already picking up, with the kids still in school and not being in high season mode just yet, the spring crowds are pretty moderate. You can still enjoy area attractions, shopping and dining without long lines and lengthy wait times. It’s a great time to enjoy a quiet, romantic dinner, a leisurely day of shopping at one of the area’s various outdoor shopping destinations, or live entertainment at one of Myrtle Beach’s many theater shows.
It’s no wonder Myrtle Beach is known as the “Golf Capital of the World”. With more than 80 courses in the area, there is something for everyone from the novice to the pro, and March is the official peak of Myrtle Beach golf season. You may still be shoveling snow back home, but here in Myrtle Beach where the average high for March is 68 degrees, you can be out on the greens in short sleeves soaking up the Carolina sun! The comfortable temperatures, endless courses, and numerous dining and entertainment options make Myrtle Beach a perfect springtime golf destination. Find deals on our Golf Package page.
